Singapore public holidays 2027
Government Gazette notification No. 3467 of 2026 lists 11 public holidays; 3 of the 11 fall on a Saturday and 1 on a Sunday. A public holiday on a Sunday makes the next day a public holiday (Monday 8 February); a Saturday holiday gives no Monday holiday, but Employment Act employees on a 5-day week get another day off or an extra day’s salary for it (see the FAQ).

Singapore public holidays 2027: questions
What are the public holidays in Singapore in 2027?
Government Gazette notification No. 3467 of 2026 (first published 18 June 2026) lists 11 public holidays: New Year’s Day (Friday, 1 January), Chinese New Year (Saturday, 6 February and Sunday, 7 February), Hari Raya Puasa (Wednesday, 10 March), Good Friday (Friday, 26 March), Labour Day (Saturday, 1 May), Hari Raya Haji (Monday, 17 May), Vesak Day (Thursday, 20 May), National Day (Monday, 9 August), Deepavali (Thursday, 28 October) and Christmas Day (Saturday, 25 December). Monday 8 February is a public holiday too, because the second day of Chinese New Year falls on a Sunday.
How many public holidays are there in 2027?
11 public holidays, plus Monday 8 February: 12 days off in all. 8 of them fall on a weekday (Monday to Friday); 3 fall on a Saturday and 1 on a Sunday.
Is 8 February 2027 a public holiday?
Yes. Chinese New Year falls on Saturday, 6 February and Sunday, 7 February 2027. Under section 4(2) of the Holidays Act, when a public holiday falls on a Sunday, the next day that is not itself a public holiday is a public holiday, so Monday 8 February is a public holiday (Government Gazette notification No. 3467 of 2026 says so too).
What if a public holiday falls on a Saturday?
There is no Monday holiday for it. In 2027, Chinese New Year (6 February), Labour Day (1 May) and Christmas Day (25 December) fall on a Saturday. According to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), employees covered by the Employment Act on a 5-day work week, whose Saturday is a non-working day, are entitled to another day off or one extra day’s salary for that public holiday; if a public holiday falls on the rest day (Sunday), the next working day is a paid public holiday. Employees not covered by the Employment Act follow their employment contract.
Are the Hari Raya Puasa and Hari Raya Haji 2027 dates confirmed?
Yes. Government Gazette notification No. 3467 of 2026 gives Hari Raya Puasa on Wednesday, 10 March 2027 and Hari Raya Haji on Monday, 17 May 2027 with no qualification, and MOM’s calendar file marks both as confirmed. Both follow the Islamic calendar; a change would be published in a new Gazette notification under section 5 of the Holidays Act, and this calendar would follow it.
When is Chinese New Year 2027?
Saturday, 6 February and Sunday, 7 February 2027 (two public holidays). Monday 8 February is a public holiday too, because 7 February is a Sunday.
When is Hari Raya Puasa 2027?
Wednesday, 10 March 2027. Hari Raya Haji is on Monday, 17 May 2027.
When is Deepavali 2027?
Thursday, 28 October 2027.
When is Vesak Day 2027?
Thursday, 20 May 2027.
What are the long weekends in 2027?
5 long weekends with no leave: New Year, Fri, 1 Jan – Sun, 3 Jan (3 days); Chinese New Year, Sat, 6 Feb – Mon, 8 Feb (3 days); Good Friday, Fri, 26 Mar – Sun, 28 Mar (3 days); Hari Raya Haji, Sat, 15 May – Mon, 17 May (3 days); National Day, Sat, 7 Aug – Mon, 9 Aug (3 days). With leave: Christmas and New Year: take Mon, 28 Dec 2026; Tue, 29 Dec 2026; Wed, 30 Dec 2026; Thu, 31 Dec 2026 for 10 days off (Fri, 25 Dec 2026 – Sun, 3 Jan 2027); Hari Raya Puasa: take Mon, 8 Mar; Tue, 9 Mar for 5 days off (Sat, 6 Mar – Wed, 10 Mar); Hari Raya Haji and Vesak Day: take Tue, 18 May; Wed, 19 May; Fri, 21 May for 9 days off (Sat, 15 May – Sun, 23 May); Vesak Day: take Fri, 21 May for 4 days off (Thu, 20 May – Sun, 23 May); Deepavali: take Fri, 29 Oct for 4 days off (Thu, 28 Oct – Sun, 31 Oct).
Is the day after National Day a public holiday?
No. National Day is Monday, 9 August 2027. Tuesday, 10 August is an MOE school holiday (schools are closed), not a public holiday.
When are the school holidays in 2027?
MOE primary and secondary schools (and MOE Kindergartens): March vacation 13–21 March, June vacation 29 May – 27 June, September vacation 4–12 September and year-end vacation 20 November – 31 December; school holidays on Monday, 5 July (for Youth Day, Sunday 4 July), Tuesday, 10 August (day after National Day), Friday, 3 September (Teachers’ Day) and Friday, 8 October (Children’s Day, primary schools); schools are also closed on Tuesday, 9 February, Monday, 3 May and Monday, 27 December (school days off-in-lieu). Junior colleges and Millennia Institute have other dates at the start and end of the year (see the MOE press release). Tick “MOE school holidays” (“School hols” on phones) above the calendar to show them.
Do I get extra pay if I work on a public holiday?
According to MOM, an employee covered by the Employment Act who works on a public holiday is entitled to an extra day’s salary at the basic rate of pay. By mutual agreement, the employer and employee can instead substitute another working day for the public holiday; employees not covered by Part 4 of the Employment Act can agree on time off. Employees not covered by the Employment Act follow their employment contract. Details: MOM’s page “Public holidays: entitlement and pay”.
How many working days are there in 2027?
253 working days (Monday to Friday) after the 8 public holidays that fall on a weekday. Per month: January 20, February 19, March 21, April 22, May 19, June 22, July 22, August 21, September 22, October 20, November 22, December 23. Shift and five-and-a-half-day workers count differently.
When will the 2028 public holidays be announced?
MOM publishes the dates one year in advance, by the third quarter of the previous year: the 2027 list was gazetted on 18 June 2026 and the 2026 list on 16 June 2025. The 2028 calendar is added when the Gazette notification is out.
Can I print the 2027 calendar?
Yes. Free A4 PDFs: a year calendar in landscape (Sunday or Monday start, with or without the MOE school holidays), a year calendar in portrait and a monthly calendar of 12 pages (Sunday start), with every public holiday written in full. They are vector files, so they print sharp.
Sources and method
All sources checked 22 October 2026.
Public holiday dates come from the Government Gazette notifications and the Holidays Act; the pay rules from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM); the school holidays from the Ministry of Education (MOE). The layout, the PDFs, the working-day counts and the long-weekend and leave ideas are made by ToolNeko; this is not a government publication.
Working days: Monday to Friday minus the public holidays that fall on a weekday; many workplaces work a five-day week, while shift and five-and-a-half-day workers differ. A public holiday on a Sunday makes the next day a public holiday (Holidays Act, section 4(2)); a public holiday on a Saturday stays on its date. The MOE school holidays never change the working days. Long weekends and leave plans assume Saturday and Sunday off.
MOM publishes the 2028 public holidays one year in advance, by the third quarter of 2027; the 2028 calendar is added then.
