Game name tips

Games count length in different ways, and some count wide characters twice. The number on each card is what you see; the game has the final say.

Results marked ⚠ May not work contain emoji or rare characters (Egyptian hieroglyphs, combining marks or fancy letter styles such as bold, script and circled). Some games block them, count them differently, or show boxes on some devices, so test in the game before you pay for a name change.

Letter styles and your privacy

When your name has English letters or digits, a Letter style row appears with bold, script, double-struck and other styles. Other characters, such as emoji or Japanese, stay exactly as typed.

Your name is processed in your browser only. It is never sent or saved; only the results you copy are kept under Recently copied on this device, and you can clear them.

Frequently asked questions

What symbols can I put in my name?

Wings such as ꧁꧂, crowns like ♔, stars ★, and marks gamers use, such as ツ, Ψ and ✘. Every game decides what it accepts, even for results without a ⚠ note, so test in the game before saving, especially the ⚠ ones.

Why do some symbols show as boxes?

The font on the device showing it does not have that character; the copy itself worked. Egyptian hieroglyphs, combining marks and fancy letter styles (bold, script, circled and similar) are the most likely to show as boxes, so their cards carry a ⚠ note. Most emoji get one too, because some games reject emoji or count one as two or more characters.

How long can my name be?

Up to 30 characters, counted as the characters you see: one emoji or one Japanese character counts as 1. A game sets its own limit and may count differently, for example counting wide characters twice.

Why don't the styles change non-English letters?

These styles use special Unicode letters that exist only for basic English letters (A–Z) and digits (0–9). Accented letters and other characters stay as typed, so a name like Mia 🌸 keeps its emoji.

Can I use these in Fortnite, Roblox, Discord or Instagram?

It depends: each platform decides which characters it accepts and how it counts length, and rules change. Paste the result into the name field and check the preview before saving.

How do I make a blank or invisible name?

Use a blank character from the invisible character page. Some games reject names that are only blank.
