Printable Graph Paper Generator

Choose paper, spacing, and insets to make one-page square graph paper. Check the complete ink-bound layout before printing.

Choose 0.25 in for standard quarter-inch graph paper, or switch to millimeters.

Private by design: Settings, measurements, compensation and generated geometry stay in this browser tab. They are not stored or added to the URL.

Insets and line style

Optional print compensation

Create and print a separate 4 inch calibration sheet. Measure both lines on that same sheet, then enter the results. This estimates compensation for that browser and printer path.

Complete squares with full stroke bounds

The generator uses the selected paper size, four safe insets, line widths, and exact square spacing to fit only complete cells. It includes half of each outside stroke in the fit calculation, then centers the remaining space independently on the horizontal and vertical axes.

The receipt shows the requested spacing and any compensated X/Y spacing, complete columns and rows, used ink area, safe-area residual gutters, page-edge ink gutters, and first and last line centers. A small page-edge gutter still needs comparison with your printer's unknown hardware margin.

Exact digital geometry and physical printing

US Letter is 8.5 × 11 inches, and A4 is 210 × 297 millimeters. One inch equals exactly 25.4 millimeters. ToolNeko keeps those relationships as exact rational values through fit decisions and rounds only visible labels and final SVG coordinates.

In the print panel, select the same paper, choose Actual Size or 100%, and turn off browser headers and footers. The file's digital geometry can be exact while paper feed, hardware margins, browser settings, or a printer driver still changes the physical sheet.

Measured print compensation

The optional calibration workflow uses a separate one-page sheet with 4 inch horizontal and vertical targets and a unique Calibration ID. After printing, enter both measured lengths from that same sheet. Corrections outside 95%–105%, or X/Y corrections that disagree by more than one percentage point, are refused.

An accepted result is a compensation estimate for the measured print path. You can print a separate verification sheet and measure it again. This does not calibrate the printer, discover its hardware margin, or guarantee engineering or metrology accuracy.

Private, bounded browser generation

The page creates a bounded vector preview in this browser. It makes no account, upload, server-generation, cloud-storage, or direct file-download request. Settings, colors, measurements, compensation values, and generated geometry are not placed in browser storage or the URL.

Analytics receives only fixed paper, orientation, unit, calibration-state, crop-risk, action and error categories. It does not receive dimensions, spacing, colors, measurements, compensation values, receipt numbers, Calibration IDs or generated SVG.

This version creates square graph paper only, on one Letter or A4 page. It does not create dot, hex, polar, logarithmic, engineering, music, or multi-page packs.

Frequently asked questions

How do I print graph paper at the intended size?

Choose the same Letter or A4 paper in the browser print panel, select Actual Size or 100%, and disable headers and footers. ToolNeko creates exact digital page geometry, but a printer or driver can still scale or clip it.

What does the fit and crop receipt show?

It reports requested and effective spacing, complete columns and rows, used ink area, first and last line centers, safe-area residuals, page-edge ink gutters, and a bounded crop-risk status before you print.

How does print compensation work?

Print the separate calibration sheet, measure its 4 inch horizontal and vertical lines, and enter both measurements. The tool estimates separate X and Y corrections for the same browser and printer path, then can create a verification sheet.

Does print compensation guarantee physical accuracy?

No. It is a measured compensation estimate. Paper handling, printer hardware margins, driver settings, and browser printing can still change the physical result, so remeasure the verification sheet.

Does ToolNeko store my measurements?

No. Settings, measurements, Calibration ID, compensation, and generated geometry stay in this browser tab. They are not uploaded, saved to browser storage, or added to the URL.

What paper sizes and spacing units are supported?

This version supports US Letter and A4 in portrait or landscape, with square spacing and four insets entered in inches or millimeters. One inch equals exactly 25.4 millimeters.
