2026 holidays in the Philippines: questions

What are the holidays in the Philippines in 2026?

Proclamation No. 1006 (signed September 3, 2025) lists 10 regular holidays: New Year's Day (January 1), Maundy Thursday (April 2), Good Friday (April 3), Araw ng Kagitingan (April 9), Labor Day (May 1), Independence Day (June 12), National Heroes Day (August 31), Bonifacio Day (November 30), Christmas Day (December 25) and Rizal Day (December 30); 4 special non-working days: Ninoy Aquino Day (August 21), All Saints' Day (November 1), Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary (December 8) and Last Day of the Year (December 31); 4 additional special non-working days: Chinese New Year (February 17), Black Saturday (April 4), All Souls' Day (November 2) and Christmas Eve (December 24); and 1 special working day: EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary (February 25). Eid'l Fitr (March 20) and Eid'l Adha (May 27) were proclaimed later as regular holidays (Proclamations No. 1189 and 1264).

How many holidays are there in 2026?

20 days off: 12 regular holidays (Eid'l Fitr and Eid'l Adha included) and 8 special non-working days (4 of them additional). February 25 is a special working day, not a day off.

What is the difference between a regular holiday, a special non-working day and a special working day?

Regular holidays and special non-working days are days off for most workers; on a special working day the day is commemorated, but work goes on as usual. Pay on regular holidays, special non-working days and the special working day follows the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) labor advisory for the year (Section 3 of the proclamation); this calendar does not give pay rates.

Is February 25, 2026 a holiday?

No. The EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary (Wednesday, February 25, 2026) is a special working day: it is commemorated, but it is not a day off.

When were Eid'l Fitr and Eid'l Adha in 2026?

Eid'l Fitr was on Friday, March 20, 2026 (Proclamation No. 1189, signed March 12), and Eid'l Adha was on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 (Proclamation No. 1264, signed May 21); both are regular holidays.

When is Holy Week 2026?

Maundy Thursday (April 2) and Good Friday (April 3) are regular holidays and Black Saturday (April 4) is a special non-working day; with Easter Sunday (April 5) that makes four days off, Thursday to Sunday.

What are the long weekends in 2026?

10 long weekends with no leave: Eid'l Fitr, Fri, Mar 20 – Sun, Mar 22 (3 days); Holy Week, Thu, Apr 2 – Sun, Apr 5 (4 days); Labor Day, Fri, May 1 – Sun, May 3 (3 days); Independence Day, Fri, Jun 12 – Sun, Jun 14 (3 days); Ninoy Aquino Day, Fri, Aug 21 – Sun, Aug 23 (3 days); National Heroes Day, Sat, Aug 29 – Mon, Aug 31 (3 days); Undas (All Saints' and All Souls' Day), Sat, Oct 31 – Mon, Nov 2 (3 days); Bonifacio Day, Sat, Nov 28 – Mon, Nov 30 (3 days); Christmas, Thu, Dec 24 – Sun, Dec 27 (4 days); Rizal Day and New Year, Wed, Dec 30, 2026 – Sun, Jan 3, 2027 (5 days). The leave-day ideas are in the long weekends section.

Do any 2026 holidays fall on a weekend?

Yes, 2 of the 20 days off: Black Saturday (Saturday, April 4) and All Saints' Day (Sunday, November 1). The proclamation gives no substitute day, so they are not moved to a weekday.

When is National Heroes Day 2026?

Monday, August 31, 2026: the last Monday of August (Republic Act No. 9492), a regular holiday.

Are local special days on this calendar?

No. City, provincial and regional special non-working days are declared by separate proclamations for those places only, so this calendar shows the nationwide days. In 2026, for example, Proclamation No. 1447 declared November 16–18 special non-working days in Metro Manila (NCR) only, for the 49th ASEAN Summit.

How many working days are there in 2026?

243 Monday-to-Friday working days after the 20 days off (18 of them on weekdays). Some workplaces also work on Saturdays.

Can I print the 2026 calendar?

Yes. Free PDFs on US Letter (short bond): a year calendar (landscape and portrait) and a monthly calendar of 12 pages, each with a Sunday or Monday start. They are vector files, so they print sharp.

Holiday dates come from the President’s proclamations and the Republic Acts linked below (texts from the Supreme Court E-Library). The layout, the PDFs, the working-day counts and the long-weekend ideas are made by ToolNeko; this is not a government publication.

Working days: Monday to Friday minus the regular holidays and special non-working days that fall on a weekday (some workplaces also work on Saturdays). A holiday on a Saturday or Sunday stays on its date: the proclamations give no substitute day. The special working day is not a day off. City, provincial and regional special days are declared by separate proclamations and are not on this calendar. New Year’s Day 2028 (January 1, a regular holiday by Republic Act No. 9492) closes the last long weekend of 2027.
