Putrajaya public holidays 2026 (22 days off)
Public holidays (cuti umum) in Putrajaya (Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya). A holiday on a Sunday gives a replacement day (cuti ganti) on the next day that is not already a holiday under the Holidays Act 1951; one on a Saturday gives none. Replacement days not announced separately are dashed: expected by law.

Malaysia public holidays 2026: questions

Replacement days: 4 (2 expected by law).
What is the weekend in Putrajaya?
Saturday and Sunday, as everywhere except Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, which rest on Friday and Saturday.
What happens when a public holiday falls on the weekend?
Under the Holidays Act 1951 (section 3), a public holiday on the weekly holiday (Sunday) moves to the next day, or to the day after if that is already a holiday. A holiday on a Saturday gets no replacement day. Replacement days follow from the law and are often not announced separately, so they are dashed here as expected until a notice confirms them.
Which replacement days (cuti ganti) are there in Putrajaya in 2026?
Monday 2 February (Federal Territory Day and Thaipusam), set by the Public Service Department (JPA) for civil servants; Monday 23 March (Hari Raya Puasa), expected by law; Tuesday 2 June (Wesak Day), announced by the Labour Department (JTKSM); Monday 9 November (Deepavali), expected by law.
When are Hari Raya Puasa, Hari Raya Haji, Chinese New Year and Deepavali in 2026?
Hari Raya Puasa: Friday 20 March, Saturday 21 March and Sunday 22 March. Hari Raya Haji (Hari Raya Qurban): Wednesday 27 May. Chinese New Year: Tuesday 17 February and Wednesday 18 February. Deepavali: Sunday 8 November. The government list marks Deepavali (Sunday 8 November) «Tertakluk kepada perubahan» (subject to change), so it is dashed here until the date is confirmed. The Islamic dates follow the Keeper of the Rulers' Seal's announcement after the moon sighting and can move by a day. Hari Raya Puasa (Saturday 21 March and Sunday 22 March) and Hari Raya Haji (Wednesday 27 May) were confirmed that way (RTM reports).
What are the long weekends in Putrajaya in 2026?
7 long weekends in Putrajaya with no leave, counting its Saturday and Sunday weekend and replacement days: Federal Territory Day and Thaipusam, Sat, 31 Jan – Mon, 2 Feb (3 days); Hari Raya Puasa, Fri, 20 Mar – Mon, 23 Mar (4 days); Labour Day, Fri, 1 May – Sun, 3 May (3 days); Wesak Day and the Agong's Birthday, Sat, 30 May – Tue, 2 Jun (4 days); National Day, Sat, 29 Aug – Mon, 31 Aug (3 days); Deepavali, Sat, 7 Nov – Mon, 9 Nov (3 days); Christmas, Fri, 25 Dec – Sun, 27 Dec (3 days). The leave-day ideas are in the long weekends section.
What is a cuti peristiwa?
A cuti peristiwa is a one-off holiday a state declares under the Holidays Act 1951 (section 9), for example for a royal occasion or a sports win, usually at short notice. None is announced for 2026 in Putrajaya yet. The Labour Department (JTKSM) notes that they are optional for private employers.
Do private sector employees get every public holiday?
In Peninsular Malaysia and Labuan, private employers follow the Employment Act 1955, section 60D. The Labour Department (JTKSM) explains it in its notices: five paid public holidays are compulsory and the employer chooses six more from the gazetted list; a paid holiday that falls on a rest day moves to the next working day, and with the employee's agreement one of the six chosen holidays can be swapped for another day (the five compulsory ones cannot). Special state holidays (cuti peristiwa) are optional for private employers. Sabah and Sarawak have their own labour laws. This calendar shows the public holiday list; your employer's holiday list may differ.
When are the school holidays in 2026?
School holidays are not on this calendar. The Ministry of Education (KPM) publishes them in its school calendar (Kalendar Akademik), which also lists the two weekend groups.
Can I print the 2026 calendar for free?
Yes. Three free A4 PDFs for Putrajaya: a year calendar (landscape and portrait) and a monthly calendar of 12 pages, with every holiday written in full and weeks starting on Sunday.
How many working days are there in Putrajaya in 2026?
245, Monday to Friday, after the 16 days off that fall on those days; the number for each month is next to the month's name in the calendar. Some workplaces also work on Saturdays or half days.
Sources and method
All sources checked 21 October 2026.
Public holiday dates come from the Prime Minister's Department (BKPP) lists for each year and the later federal and state gazettes and notices linked below; replacement days not announced separately are worked out from the Holidays Act 1951 and the Sabah and Sarawak ordinances. The layout, the PDFs, the working-day counts and the long-weekend ideas are made by ToolNeko; this is not a government publication.
Working days: the five days outside the weekend (Monday to Friday; Sunday to Thursday in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu) minus the public holidays and replacement days of the page; the All of Malaysia page counts the national holidays only. Replacement days (cuti ganti): a holiday on the weekly holiday moves to the next day that is not already a holiday (Holidays Act 1951, section 3); in Sabah a Sunday holiday moves to the next day, and in Sarawak to the following Monday for the days the ordinance's First Schedule lists above its note. Where no notice confirms a replacement day it is dashed as expected. In Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu a holiday on a Friday or Saturday gets a replacement day only if the state announces one, so none is drawn. Some workplaces also work on Saturdays or half days, and private employers follow the Employment Act 1955. Long weekends: three or more days off in a row with a public holiday; leave plans: the fewest leave days that join a holiday to the weekend.
