Every GPA-bearing course contributes its base grade points times its credits. The weighted estimate adds only the Honors and AP/IB boosts shown in the settings; the unweighted estimate uses the same courses and credits without those boosts.
Compare a grade change without losing the original
After you lock the baseline, the what-if planner changes only the selected course grades in a separate scenario. It displays the original GPA, the scenario GPA, the signed difference, and the quality-point change for each edited course. Editing or resetting the scenario never rewrites the baseline course list.
Know which GPA rules you can adjust
The calculator uses common U.S. 4.0 letter points from A through F. You can choose whether A+ means 4.0 or 4.3 and change the Honors or AP/IB boosts. P, NP, I, and W are always shown as excluded. If your school assigns different letter points or counts those marks, use its official calculator instead.
Privacy and limits
Course calculations stay in the browser. Course names and grades are not placed in the URL, sent with analytics events, or saved in local storage. The result is an estimate and does not predict admission, scholarships, class rank, or an institution's recalculated GPA.
Frequently asked questions
Does this use a weighted or unweighted GPA?
It shows both from the same courses. Unweighted GPA uses the base letter-grade points; weighted GPA adds the Honors or AP/IB boosts you enter before applying credits.
What happens to P, NP, I, or W grades?
The page keeps those rows visible but excludes them from both quality points and counted credits. Confirm your school's policy because transcript rules vary.
Will a what-if grade overwrite my current courses?
No. Calculate and lock the baseline first. The planner then overlays up to three grade changes and keeps the original and scenario results side by side.
Why does this GPA differ from my transcript?

Does this predict college admission or scholarships?
No. It only calculates the arithmetic from the courses, credits, grades, and boosts you enter. Institutions may recalculate GPA and consider many other factors.
