CPS Test

Choose a fixed duration, press the test surface, and see accepted clicks and clicks per second.

Pointer speed test

Clicks per second

The first primary mouse, pen, or touch press starts the clock and counts once. Space or Enter can start the clock with zero clicks; keyboard activation never adds a test click.

Private test: activity stays in this tab. Coordinates, pointer IDs, raw timestamps, intervals, selected duration, exact clicks, exact CPS, results, and copied text do not enter the URL, storage, cookies, network requests, or analytics. Analytics receives only fixed tool, action, error, and related-link identifiers, with no event for each click.

Start with a primary press or arm the clock by keyboard

The test listens for primary pointer presses on one visible surface. A primary left-mouse press, primary pen press, or primary touch press starts the selected interval and counts exactly once. Space or Enter can instead start an idle interval with zero clicks. Additional accepted pointer presses before the deadline increase the count; keyboard activation never becomes a test click.

The deadline is checked before another click is accepted

Timing uses the browser’s monotonic high-resolution clock. Each pointer handler samples the clock before changing the count. If that sample is equal to or later than the deadline, the press is rejected and the result is finalized from the clicks already accepted. The displayed CPS is accepted clicks divided by exactly 1, 5, or 10 seconds.

Leaving the test retires its state

Changing duration, choosing Try again or Reset, hiding the page, navigating away, or restoring it from the back-forward cache cancels scheduled timer and animation work. It clears the prior result and copy presentation; page lifecycle cancellation leaves a visible status so the interrupted run is not mistaken for a result. The tool does not keep history, personal bests, leaderboards, rankings, anti-cheat judgments, sound, or arbitrary durations.

Interpret one run as a browser measurement

A result contains accepted clicks, the fixed selected seconds, and clicks per second. Device hardware, browser scheduling, touch processing, and clicking technique can change a run. The result is not a skill certification and does not claim that results from different devices are directly comparable.

Frequently asked questions

How does the CPS test start?

Choose 1, 5, or 10 seconds. The first accepted primary mouse, pen, or touch press starts the monotonic browser clock and counts as the first click. Space or Enter can instead start the clock with zero clicks. Presses sampled at or after the deadline do not count.

What does CPS mean?

CPS means clicks per second. This page divides the accepted click count by the fixed selected duration and displays the result to two decimal places.

Can I use a keyboard for test clicks?

Space or Enter can start an idle test with zero clicks, but keyboard activation never adds a test click. The measurement counts primary pointer presses only, so keyboard-generated click events cannot be counted as pointer presses.

What happens if I switch tabs?

Hiding or leaving the page cancels the running test, clears any old result and copy state, and stops its timer and animation work. Return to the page and start a new test.

Is a CPS score a skill rating?

No. This tool reports only the accepted clicks, fixed seconds, and calculated CPS for one browser run. Hardware, browser scheduling, input devices, and technique affect results, so the page does not assign ranks, percentiles, or fairness claims.
