Business Card QR Code Generator

Fill in your details to make a QR code people can scan to save your contact, then add it to your business card.

Every field is optional except a first or last name. How each field is saved depends on the phone's contacts app.

How to make a business card QR code

  1. Enter your name and the details you want people to save: company, title, phone, email, website and address.
  2. Check for “✅ Scans OK” under the preview. To add your logo or a color, open the “Design” section.
  3. Download the SVG for print (it stays sharp at any size) or a large PNG for apps that don't accept SVG, and save the .vcf file if you need one.

What happens when someone scans it

The QR code holds your details in vCard format, the standard contact format phones use. When someone points their phone camera at it, the phone offers to add you as a new contact. No app and no internet connection are needed for that step.

Your first and last names are saved in separate fields, and each phone's contacts app decides how it shows your name, title and address.

How big to print it on a business card

A standard US business card is 3.5 × 2 in. A contact QR code holds more data than a short link, so its dots are smaller. Print the code at least 0.8 inch (2 cm) wide, including its white border, and larger if you fill in many fields.

Download the SVG for print layouts: it stays sharp at any size. Before you order a print run, test a proof with your phone camera.

A contact in the code, not a link

Some business card QR codes point to a hosted page that needs an account and can stop working if the service changes or ends. This code holds the contact itself, so it has no account, no tracking and no expiry, and it keeps working even if this website goes away.

If your details change, make a new code. A printed code can't be edited later.

Frequently asked questions

Does the QR code expire?

No. It contains your contact details directly, not a link, so there is nothing to expire. It keeps working until you change your details and print a new one.

Is my contact information sent anywhere?

No. The QR code, the scan check and every download are made in your browser. Your details are not sent to ToolNeko and are not put in the page URL or analytics. The page loads ads and analytics, but they never include what you type.

Can iPhones and Android phones scan it?

Yes. Current iPhones and most Android phones read contact QR codes with the built-in camera and offer to add the contact. Older phones may need a QR scanner app.

What is the .vcf file for?

A .vcf file (also called a vCard) holds the same contact details as the QR code. You can attach it to an email signature, send it to someone, or import it into a contacts app or CRM.

Can I add a photo or social media links?

Not on this page. A photo is too large to fit in a QR code, and every extra field makes the dots smaller. Put your social links on your website and add the website URL.

What does “Scans OK” mean?

Each time the code changes, this page reads the same image back on your device and checks that it matches your contact, character by character. It can't promise that every phone will scan it, so test a printed proof with your own phone.
