Yes or No Wheel
Think of a casual question, then spin for YES or NO. Add MAYBE when two choices feel too strict.
Think of a casual question, then spin.
For casual choices only. A random answer is not advice for health, safety, legal, financial, or other serious decisions.
Get a quick Yes or No answer
Use the wheel when you have a casual question and either answer is acceptable: watch a movie now, take a short walk, choose the first game, or pick who starts. Keep the question in mind and press the center of the wheel. The result appears in the center and in a text line below it, so you do not need to infer the answer from the pointer alone.
Press the center again for another independent spin. The counts show how many times each answer has appeared during the current page session. They describe past spins; they do not change the next probability or make an answer “due.” Reset counts starts a clean session.
Use Maybe when two answers are too strict
The default wheel contains two equal segments: YES and NO. Select Yes / No / Maybe to use three equal segments. The mode switch clears the prior answer and counts because a two-choice total should not be mixed with a three-choice total.
MAYBE can mean “get more information,” “decide later,” or “set a smaller next step.” Agree on its meaning before spinning if more than one person is using the result. The page does not assign hidden weights, repeat entries, or adjust the odds after a streak.
How the random wheel works
Your browser supplies an unsigned 32-bit value through the Web Crypto API. With two choices, the accepted values divide evenly. With three choices, the page rejects the tiny incomplete remainder before mapping the value to an answer. That rejection step keeps each available index backed by the same number of source values.
The answer is selected before the wheel moves. The animation uses that selected segment as its target and cannot change the outcome. If your device requests reduced motion, the wheel settles without a rotating animation. If secure browser randomness is unavailable or repeatedly fails the acceptance check, the tool reports an error and gives no answer.
Use random answers for low-stakes choices
A wheel can break a harmless tie, add suspense to a game, or reveal which option you were hoping to see. It cannot measure consequences, check facts, understand another person's wishes, or replace professional judgment. Treat the answer as a prompt for a casual decision, not proof that one action is correct.
Do not use this page to decide whether to seek medical care, ignore a warning, sign a contract, spend money you cannot afford to lose, or take another action with serious consequences. For those decisions, pause and use reliable information suited to the subject.
Privacy and current-page limits
The page has no question box, account, share link, or cloud history. Your answer and counts stay in the current page and disappear when it is reloaded or closed. Normal site analytics may still load, while bounded tool events record only actions such as changing the mode, completing a spin, or resetting counts.
Frequently asked questions
How do I use the Yes or No Wheel?
Think of one casual question, then press the center Spin button. The wheel selects YES or NO before it moves, stops on that segment, and shows the same answer in text. Press the center again to spin another time.
Can the wheel include Maybe?
Yes. Select Yes / No / Maybe below the wheel. Changing the mode clears the previous answer and this session's counts so the displayed totals always match the active wheel.
Is each answer equally likely?
Yes. The two-choice wheel gives YES and NO equal probability. The three-choice mode gives YES, NO, and MAYBE equal probability. The page uses browser Web Crypto and rejection sampling so an incomplete remainder of the 32-bit range does not favor one index.
Does the animation decide the answer?
No. The browser chooses an answer first, then the wheel animation lands inside that answer's segment. Reduced-motion preferences skip the rotation and show the already selected result immediately.
Are my questions or results saved?
There is no question field, and the answer counts stay only in the current page. They are not placed in the URL or saved for a later visit. Tool analytics record bounded actions such as a completed spin, never a question or answer.
Should I use a random answer for an important decision?
No. This wheel is for casual, reversible choices and games. Do not use it as health, safety, legal, financial, relationship, or other consequential advice. For a serious decision, compare evidence and ask an appropriate qualified person when needed.
